To celbreate the Queens Platinum Jubilee Exmouth Rowing Club instituted a special fun race on Sat 5th Jun. with a cup for the winning crew presented by National Coastwatch Institution Exmouthj. 5 crews competed in 2 heats in a staggered relay race where each crew had to row to a point opposite the Clock Tower to collect an object (An Orb, a Sceptre and a tiara) then return to their home slip and put the object ashore. On the final leg a member of the crew had to run the final item up the beach and take their place on the throne to stop the time clock. The Queens Jubilee Cup then went to the fastest crew. The Cup was presented by the Mayor Steve Gazzard and the Exmouth NCI Station Manger Ivor Jones Great fun was had by all
